Režisér Kakudou Hiroyuki, který režíroval první a druhou sérii Digimon Adventure, oznámil na svém Twitteru, že odstupuje od nového Digimon projektu. Podle toho všeho mu byl předložen koncept, jenž až příliš popírá seriál jako takový. To nemohl přijmout, a tak se rozhodl rezignovat. Nicméně v konceptu se bude i nadále pokračovat. Také to vypadá, že půjde o novou Adventure sérii. Přesto není však stále jasné o co vlastně půjde. Zda-li sérii jako sérii nebo jestli půjde o OVA filmy jako v případě Tri.
